PROJECT PROGRESS CHART
The Project Progress Chart is a chart designed to show the progress of a project. The chart is only accessible from Phase 2 onwards, once the initial product has been set up by the Product Manager during Phase 1.

The chart will normally appear as follows:

However, if a product is introduced to Vizula part way through it's product life cycle, then the chart may show a sub-set of this.
PROJECT PROGRESS CHART DESCRIPTION

Phase 3 - Develop
The bottom left quadrant of the chart shows Phase 3 progress sub-chart.

The bottom axis of this sub-chart shows Phase 3 actual/forecast duration in days. The vertical axis shows Phase 3 plan duration in days. The colour of the line gives an immediate indication of the health of the progress:
  • Red = Behind plan
  • Green = Ahead of plan

In the example above, the thick red line gives the trajectory of the current forecast. The thin black line gives the trajectory of the original plan with the in-fill (light red) between the two lines giving an indication of the slippage.

Also in the example above, the colour of the sub-chart (white) indicates that it is the current stage. Grey indicates a future stage whilst green (not shown) indicates a past / completed stage.

Phase 4 - Verify
The top right quadrant of the chart shows Phase 4 & Phase 5 progress sub-charts. The bottom left of these two charts is the Phase 4 chart.

The bottom axis of this sub-chart shows Phase 4 actual/forecast duration in days. The vertical axis shows the Phase 4 plan duration in days.

Also in the example above, the colour of the sub-chart (grey) indicates that it is a future phase. White indicates the current phase whilst green (not shown) indicates a past / completed phases.

Phase 5 - Launch
The top right quadrant of the chart shows Phase 4 & Phase 5 progress sub-charts. The top right of these two charts is the Phase 5 chart.

The bottom axis of this sub-chart shows Phase 5 actual/forecast duration in days. The vertical axis shows Phase 5 plan duration in days. The colour of the line gives an immediate indication of the health of the progress:
  • Red = Behind plan
  • Green = Ahead of plan

In the example above, the thick green line gives the trajectory of the current forecast. The thin black line gives the trajectory of the original plan with the in-fill (light green) between the two lines giving an indication of the timescale gain.

Also in the example above, the colour of the sub-chart (grey) indicates that it is a future phase. White indicates the current phase whilst green (not shown) indicates a past / completed phase.

Current Progress
The thick blue line indicates the length of time that has passed in the project, stopping at today's date. In the example(s) on this information sheet, the blue line is shown in Phase 3. but it eventually extends into all three sub-charts as time progresses and the project nears completion.

Project Summary
The top left quadrant of the chart gives the project summary. This summary is broken into two parts:-
  • Current Phase
  • Whole Project

Project Diary
The bottom right hand quadrant shows the Project Diary. This can be used as a very quick summary of key dates and issues that have arisen during the project.
